With extensive experience in school leadership, inspection, training and guidance, Emaths consultants will work with you to design a bespoke programme of support.

Mark McCourt

A former school leader, inspector and AST.  Mark was a Director at The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics and a Senior Director within Tribal Education.  He has led numerous large scale educational projects both in the UK and overseas.

Mark launched Emaths in 2004 and has written several educational books.

Mark now works with a range of schools and educational institutions across the UK and other countries.

Steve Humble

Steve has worked with organistaions such as BALTIC (maths art), LIFE (maths science), FACE (maths farming, growing and cooking), Northern Architecture (maths architecture) on projects with teachers and students illustrating the importance of mathematics across the curriclum.

He spent five years working for the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics as a Senior Regional Coordinator, supporting the north of England as well as numerous national projects.

Steve specialises in:

  • Creating mathematics walks and trails in school and local environments

Steve works across the North of England.

Pete Hall

Pete Hall is a former Senior Regional Coordinator for the NCETM. Pete has vast experience in primary education and is a primary mathematics specialist. As a Headteacher of an inner city primary school, Pete led the school to a threefold increase in KS2 tests results. He has worked as a freelance consultant supporting many Local Authorities and schools. As an author, he has had many books published, notably a series on problem solving for KS1 and KS2. He has also produced online materials for resources like 'Education City'.
